Monza on West Coast - sold

Postby 001 Neville » 23 Apr 2014, 23:41

One of our SI members, Kelvin, has decided to sell his Monza.

He's on the West Coast, and would prefer to get MW1794 sold before the winter sets in as the car is not under cover. Failed last WOF, but plates are still live. I'm trying to find some pics I had of the car, but he confirms it now needs some tlc......

* New windscreen coming down from Auckland supplier as his one is cracked.
* Tie rod ends need replacing
* Omega V6 engine fitted, but he has the original straight six engine too
* Paint lacquer on roof has peeled
* One disc rotor is cracked and needs replacing
* Holden headlights fitted, but he has original Monza ones (one lens broken, but I may have a spare)

Here's the last pics I have for MW1794 .... many years ago!

I'm sure Kelvin said a V6 when I spoke to him a few nights ago. No mention of cert anyway.

That's right, it was your car after Peter. Try to keep track of the owners

Sold your Omega GSi yet?

Presume you mean the Omega A straight six engine then? Have you managed to get the windscreen replaced, Kelvin? I've not heard back from the other Chch member who was asking about a Monza. Will try to chase him.

Would be a pity to "Holdenise" another Monza. Won't make it any more saleable. How about TradeMe?

Ok, well if I hear of any Monza being broken, I'll let you know. There is a Vauxhall version, a Royale coupe in Hutt that is only worth breaking as it is apparently rotting away in the owners garage, but would be good for spares. Problem would be to retrieve it.

You're looking for a front disc rotor and headlight glass? I can provide you the glass from a spare headlight unit I have here somewhere.

Would VC-VH brake rotors not transfer across?

I would check the late 80 to 90s bmw for a disc size the stud pattern is the same if I remember rightly.

I have a spare Monza engine I rescued from a guy in Morrinsville a few months back, as he removed it to install a V8. He's not on the Forum. He said it was running when he removed it. I can't give any guarantees as I didn't hear it running myself, but you should be able to take it apart and check if worth using?
