I got this price for GM ones out of the UK via a vauxhall dealer at Manta Owners Club UK discounted prices (pounds)

Inlet valves £37.08 ea
Exhaust valves £59.21 ea (sodium Filled)

EACH?

SBD have +1mm*, 7mm stem, inlet and exhaust valves for 21 quid each.
Early 13mm bronze guides 10.04 pounds each and the later 11mm guides 4.12 pounds each.
IMO, the sidium filled valves are a bit OTT for a NA engine.

*they fit the stock seats - with a remachined seat, of course.

that's what I thought when I saw the price, guess there must be some reason GM fitted sodium filled exhaust ones from stock?
your right tho reading up on this it does sound a bit over the top, but cant get away from the fact that they were fitted originally
QED cheaper for over sized valves 14.50 pounds each
6 quid / 7 quid for the bronze guides

159 quid for a set of 16 over sized valves from these guys http://www.autosprint.co.uk/?p=p_48

pays to shop around

They were dropped in the later XE engines and there are several let's putting out more than 500hp with the solid stem valves, as long as temperatures aren't too high, a good quality valve will be fine.
Prices are all over the place, aren't they - Autosprint have had some bad comments made about their product and the quality of them.

same old story mate, you pay for what you get sometimes.

just had an e-mail back from the vauxhall guy in the UK and the original equipment ones / part numbers, sodium filled exhaust valves

Inlet valves, 90322694, I can get these in Mahle who are OEM parts
Exhaust Valves, 90322697, i can get these in Mahle who are OEM parts

yes there is conflicting stuff on the net about sodium exhaust valves being used on early C20XE only. I will go with what my guy at vauxhall says, and that's sodium filled.

interesting read on why sodium filled valves are used here http://www.aa1car.com/library/ar1192.htm
