Okay, the theme of the show was "movies" and after racking my brains for a while for a movie that Opels had appeared in, I came up with ..... nothing! So had to think more laterally, and in the absence of any other suggestions, I realised my dealings with the importation and compliance for my Monza was like "Mission:Impossible!" so that's the way we went....

Only picking up the display boards on Wednesday didn't leave much time to get much done, but luckily I was previously a graphic designer, so was able to create all my own artwork which was ready for me to collect on Friday morning before I headed down to Dunedin at lunchtime. I planned to do more things like red laser security lights and a 'small' mannequin with Tom Cruise's face dressed in black .... but ran out of time. :( I jacked up the back of my Monza, with my spare trailing arm handy, and a mirror to inspect under the rear supension area.

Graeme and Gail Saxton have the silver Vauxhall Calibra, one of several Vx cars they own. Bev, the new owner of Ryan's beige Monza was also a previous owner of the car, having sold it when her husband was ill. She was thrilled to get the car back and drove up to take part in her first car show ever. Ryan owns the red Calibra, currently on TradeMe. Thanks to all of you for your help in being on the stand, and helping me with getting the stand ready for the show.

:? Never heard of it! Looks like a remake of Grease?

Yes, the panels looked pretty good at the end. I just need to work out a way to get more of the Opel flags up and visible. The roof was too high to get the 3 metre banner up there hanging down. Maybe next time.

Think Grease + Fast and furious combined :|

The intro says it all:

You will probably give up watching after the first 5 minutes.

Hmm, there were a few Historic Vauxhalls on a small stand, smaller than ours. My camera batteries expired and I had to borrow a set from Graeme S, and I must have not got round that far with the fresh batteries.

Graeme may have some pics since he had a car on their stand too, plus a Bedford CF van with a very useful stove and water, since the catering facilities were undermanned as usual!
