Derek> yeah, I do have a good sense of humour... But N20 is something we really would like to do one day... just want to run it down a drag strip once!! :D[/quote]

good call, didn't think you were taking the piss when you mentioned N20, will enjoy following the progress.
the question I had in my mind was covered off above, how would it get from the turbo down to the sump, the only thing I could think of was via the oil ways in the head, looking at the head I have on the bench they are pretty small and the route isnt so clear so would have thought any fragments would possibly lodge themselves in the oil ways rather than get down to the sump, but if the part you have is small, then maybe your right.
if it looks like a bearing and one side is worn through to the brass then that to me means the bearing is well worn, if it has fragmented I would have expected there to be some knocking noises from the area its come from. having had a few big ends go in the past I know what they sound like

guess you will want to be sure the engine is up to spec before you start pumping N20 into it, last thing you want is a piston coming out the side of the block aye...

The usual oil drain position for LETs is to the block, just above the sump - easy for a small piece of debris from a turbo' to end up in the sump.

Yeah, our oil drain is directly connected to the sump... so doesn't touch the head or block... ;)

Derek> we have been wanting to do it since years ago! LOL... I just didn't have the guts... But thinking about it again, and you are right don't want a rod out the side of the block... so will see for the wet kit... the cali is running rich already, so a small shot or 50 of N20 should be great!... feel a bit sorry for the motor though when I think about it to be honest... LOOL...

I've heard of C20LETs handling a 100 shot of NOS on standard internals quite happily.
I only know of one guy whos running a 160 shot regularly, but I believe that he has aftermarket forged pistons and H beam conrods.

LOL @ Chad... I don't want to ram a conrod through the block on the first run... I have forged pistons, but standard rods... although they do have ARP rod bolts... but still... I would be too scared to go so wild so fast!! LOOOL...

NO2 adds x power to the engine, regardless of rpm - so it makes a significant increase in cylinder pressures at low rpm - the term 'running over it's crank' had a lot of use in the early days.
I don't know about the LET, but the stock XE has been known to take 100hp without problems as long as the rpm isn't too low and I wouldn't be surprised if a 160 shot works.
However, your LET is already modified and has significantly increased cylinder pressures already and as the general limit is regarded as 300-350 hp (although that doesn't really mean a lot without the rpm) on stock rods, you may not have a lot of leeway. What some have done is use the NO2 to spool up the turbo', using a pressure switch to turn it off, this is most useful when a big turbo' is used that is slow to come on boost.
While it can be regarded as 'cheap' horsepower, if it goes wrong it can be anything but...
