I know... but it is going to have to be handled with kid gloves when it lands, as the motor hasn't turned over for 18+ months, and I know the cast iron valve guides are probably going to be rusted a bit... so no landing and flashing it up, unless I want bent valves... which I definitely don't!! And then we want to open the bottom end to check the big ends... after 3 years of 1.5bar boost, and now standing for so long they may need to be replaced... but will look and see... Otherwise, it will be all good to go... :D

Just get a few pottles of redline engine builders paste, whip off the valve cover and sump and coat every bearing surface you can see. 8)

won't do anything for the valve guide or bigend bearing issues Jennifer talks about.

Yeah, but there might be other instances where I need it, so good to know... as for the valve guides, that is going to be a slow turn by hand to hopefully loosen and hopefully they wont be in too bad a condition... LOL... I'm not sure if the big ends are bad, as the car was building and holding it's oil pressure very well before I parked it... just something that we are a little concerned about due to the high boost that they have been subjected to, seeing as the conrods and bearings are standard 20XE!! ;) Although, if they were ok when parked, then they shouldn't be bad now?? Gosh, I'm just worried about the engine that is all... LOL...

Check this out. Click Opel, then C20LET or C20XE, if the part you need isn't in the list give them a call, they should be ale to get them for you pronto.

Smearing some anti-scuff paste on the cam' lobes and followers will be a good idea, or at least giving them a good dousing in clean engine oil.

Grief... Customs are taking their sweet time!! From tomorrow I have to pay $100/day because my container is supposed to have gone back to the shipper already!! Was told it is due to the rugby!? So how would that be my problem?? :( MAF still have to do their thing too... which is going to still cost more money!! Sure hope it will all be sorted this week... the waiting is starting to get to me now!

So Customs have released my vehicle only for MAF to get their grimy little paws on it... and would you believe that they found dirt?? I was like WTF??? So off to steam clean and vacuum... $562 later (what a rip off) and then hopefully I can have my baby back! :D Oh, and the steam cleaner is getting a call tomorrow... with strict instructions not to wet my tappet cover... for heaven's sake, I'm going to have a heart attack!!

Hang in there!
You'll have it soon
Also you should get a can of 'Nylac' and coat your polished rocker cover. It's almost like a 'clear coat' for bare metals, it self primes and prevents oxidation. This stuff is the reason why those polished Aluminium boats stay shiny in the sea water.

Yes, hottest your rocker cover will get is 90degrees I guess.
Nylac is the stuff you want. Works great on polished rims too.
