Bathurst Run

Last Saturday would have been Peter Brock's birthday, & on Sunday we had a tribute run to Mt Panorama, Bathurst.

I love the big-tank Charger - designed to reduce fuel stops when racing at Bathurst. 8)

There was a round of the NSW Hillclimb Championship running while we were there, giving us some interesting cas & action to watch.

Highlight though, was the drive home on great winding road, with no expectation of them being patrolled. :D :D

Done properly they do help, even at relatively low speeds - and anything that helps...

The oversize fuel tank in the Charger reminds me of a mate that had an ex-Bathurst car - he was towing a trailer down to the SI and stopped at a service station in Wellington, for directions to the ferry, and when asked if he needed petrol he replied "No thanks, we filled up in Whangarei" - he still had over a 1/4 tank left.
