Yes, that's for sure. We had a violent shake down here so it must have been bad up there.

The Christchurch members I've mobile numbers for and have texted are ok. I didn't want to start phoning just yet.

Agree with this. I hope everyone from the forum is well along with their families and friends. Have sent a few texts to those who I haven't heard from yet, so really hoping everyones safe, as the deathtoll is already shockingly high, with many more still missing.

Hoping all is well over there.

I have not heard that any of my N. Z. friends have been directly affected but I am still thinking of you all.

Leigh.

Just caught up with other Chch members I have phone numbers for, and while Martin B has to have a chimney taken out of the centre of his house, and Owen has his chimney stack taken down to roof level, there are no major problems, with all having running water and power.

The only casualty so far is Owen's white Manta that we saw last year at Ruapuna. He had to drive back through liquifaction to get home, and liquid silt was above the door sills, so the car is not looking too happy for itself and he is going to get it steam cleaned to try to get it sorted when he gets back from pre-booked holidays. Probably better sooner rather than later, but you have to balance priorities!
