Champions Brock Experience

Postby 014 Phil » 14 Feb 2011, 10:38

Massive day on Saturday. Champions Brock Experience has been described as one of the best collection of vehicles as a tribute to one driver in the world. Unfortunately it is located well away from major population centres/tourist destinations (but where the owner lives) and after three years of non-profitable operation, it has been announced that it closes at the end of February. We had a club trip planned for June, but that was cancelled, so a few of us made the journey yesterday. 1600 knms, so flying was the only way to make it a day-trip.

Foyer area had some interesting stuff including one of only two cars to have won Bathurst twice

Inside the display is laid out with Brock road-cars in the middle, with Brock race-cars displayed in chronolgical order around the outside (mixture of replica & genuine cars).

Brock build his first race car at home - an Austin A30 with Holden 6-cyl running gear. This car was incredibly successful & brought Brock to the notice of the Holden Dealer Team. (Replica displayed)
