South Island meeting, now 12 December!

For non-technical car discussion and general banter and jokes. Keep it clean(ish).

We've still got some way to go to match the number of cars you have turning up to your events, Phil! How often do you meet/attend shows over there?

I wouldn't be too hard on myself Neville. Gatherings are roughly as follows:-

Brock Club
Run or show each month, plus monthly meeting of a night (no cars).
Run averages 5 cars, show 12 cars. Eight people to the meetings. Annual national event - 50 cars. Only 4 members (8 people incl family) to the Christmas run.

XU1 Club
Run or show each month, plus monthly meeting of a night (no cars).
Run averages 7 cars, show 12 cars. Twenty people to meetings. 14 members to Christmas run, for a total of 40 incl. family.

Muscle Car Association
Run or show each month, no monthly meeting.
20-30 cars on runs, same for a show. 50 cars to Christmas run for a total of 150 people.

In addition to these events, there is also a casual get-together once a month at Harry's Cafe de Wheels. This is not just for club members, and there car be 200-400 cars.
Cheers

Some pics of the Rennsport cars including the BMW 635M of Andrew Buist, my contact at the Rennsport trackdays. They are keen for more cars competing in the series, so Matt will have to hurry up with his Monza track car! Next race in March 2011

Amazing. Quite a site to see, Opels like that out on a track together. May sound strange, but I never really thought I'd see something like that in NZ, so it's nice to be part of the community that made it happen. Good work Neville and the rest of the team down in the SI.

Just need to arrange for a trackday up in the North Island now! Hampton Downs, anyone? 8)

I'll likely run my own track day at Hampton Downs some way through 2011, once I have my Vectra going. It will probably be a twilight event, 6pm til 10pm on a weeknight because its half the price and probably has a higher chance of people being available than during the day (usually has to be a week day to hire it at a good rate, and without booking 12 months out).

Of course I'll be sure to post it up here as soon as I get a booking, but at this stage I would be hoping to sort something around september-ish. I've been wanting to do this for a while and I think I could get at least 15-20 cars there myself, to keep costs reasonable.

Hampton Downs is amazing.
