Relentless induction roar.
Great on the twisties, tedious on the highway. I however have the solution! Earplugs.
It ain't broke, it's just loud, nothing to fix here.

Sennheiser HD280 HD headphones, closed design with a nominal 30dB attenuation - about the same as grade 4/5 ear protection - and you can plug it into your MP3 player 8)
Just the thing for pottering down for track days.

Nah, no drive yet. Still a little bit of fiddling to do with the engine and also rebuilding the suspension, mounting seats/harnesses, then a tune before I can drive it in anger.

A little bit rough to begin with, but it soon smoothed out and once I got the throttles evened up nicely it ran surprisingly smoothly. I don't have the fuel pressure reg vacuum hooked up yet though, so it's a bit rich and fouled the plugs. Not going to run it again until I have spun up some of those fittings for the runners like what you did.

Heh FPR vacuum line?
Never hooked it up, didn't cause any issues during tuning. Maybe the base map you have is very much on the rich side? Then again my injectors are different to start with.
The vacuum supply to the FPR just drops the fuel rail pressure at idle and mine idles and runs fine so I'm not planning on hooking it up.
PM me your address and I'll send the fittings you need for the brake servo. No need to get any machined.

Got an airflow balancer and fuel pressure testing gear, if you want to borrow them?

Yeah it just drops the FP at idle. Apparently these injectors don't like going too light on the duty so to lean it up at idle it's better to just drop the FP a lite and run them at a more normal duty. It's not a hassle and I've already found a bolt with a hole through it and of the perfect thread pitch, so no stress Chad, but thanks anyway.

And cheers too Gordo, but I'm just going to put a wide band on it and go from there.

I'd like to borrow your airflow meter Gordo if thats ok. Wouldn't mind checking the pair balance on my throttles since they've had a few KM's since the install.

That's fine, pick up or drop off? I'll grap the pressure guage as well - just need a day or two notice in case I've something else on.
Once set, they should hold the adjustment, though. 8)

Such a cool website.

I stumbled across one the other day and the team were running an original Vectra A STW! Very cool.
