Weird place to have a tensioner, if that is what it is - maybe something to help stop belt whip affecting the inlet timing?

I'd say so Gordo, or possibly trying to stop it stretching at 8500rpm.

just had some more work done by the team an Franklin Engineering Services in Pukekohe

This time it was to machine up a female boss and weld it into the radiator for me.

Would recommend

The radiator was made in the UK for a OMOC member but never fitted. I took it to a radiator shop in Manukau and the guy there took one look at it and without any prompting said "that's not a Chinese one"

Job was a bit too much for him so he suggested I take it back to Pukekohe and get the guys at FES onto it (why didn't I think of that?)

Not a fan sender unit?
May have been an idea to have a drain tap fitted at the same time, if you don't already have something sorted for it?

Pipes right at the bottom anyway - will be easy for draining. Drain plugs are a good idea, but many of them end up in difficult to reach places or over other things so they don't really make it any better than just popping a hose.

Looks good. I like hearing success stories, especially when using local people.

I took a BMW driver for a blast through the tightest back road that I could find today. It's the first Opel he's been in and I dare say he was shaken and possibly stirred at the end of the run. I could hear plenty hooting and cheering coming from the passenger seat over the engine roar.

I had a drive of a S14 200sx Nissan last week. SR20DET. Might pay to avoid going head to head with one of those :|

In a straight line of course, but we both know my car isn't a drag queen, nor would I want it to be. Hell a new Toyota Camry could probably take the Vectra on a strip! However it would need to be a rather special S14 to lose the vectra on a road track.

Check out the new Chevrolet Impala, raking in very good reviews at launch, of course built on the Opel sourced Epsilon II platform.

Sounds pretty good, looks pretty boring though. I guess this is what the next Insignia will be.

I wonder what will happen after Commodore finishes up, whether these things will replace it.

The neighbour had a visitor the other day, he turned up in a VL commodore with.....wait for it....... a C20NE hiding under the washer bottle.
Holly smoke, what an unhappy vehicle. You'd need to get out and push to get the skin off a rice pudding!

For the Europe based members, were talking a Senator based sedan, only heavier, with a hard working CIH 2000cc under the hood, poor motor.

Literally when I opened the hood, I swear the motor let out a yelp and leapt behind the brake booster! Poor little guy. It's the equivalent of transplanting the heart of a housecat into a bison and calling it a day.

I have pics, will upload them soon.

EDIT: It was actually a newer VN Commodore, even worse!
