Hi Steve!
More than welcome mate! If we can get some good numbers, it would be a real eye opener. I mean how many Opels has anyone in NZ seen in one place before? We could break a record.

No problem, Steve. You'd be welcome to come along. I do like the more modern Opels, but my passion and so this forum, was built around the pre-2000 models.

dont know what time of year you are planning north island meet , but for something out of left field what about the hawkes bay british & European club show in early march.quite informal & usually gathers several hundred cars

I went to that a couple of years back, when I picked up my Opel Rekord.... and I was the only Opel there! :(

Ideally, we need somewhere more central which is why I was suggesting Taupo. How far would you consider travelling to a club meeting?

I think travel would be limited mainly by nights away,so for me personally central north island is best, north of the Bombays last resort

Ok, well register your vote on the poll at top, or else I imagine the majority will be voting for Auckland

Can people use the poll vote system at the top of the page to express preferences? Thanks

Yes, a run to Taupo is all good, apologies for late reply

A good bit of news for our North Island members is that Hampton Downs is also being considered as a venue for the new Super Touring Car series!

Date to be confirmed!

I am really looking forward to the next North Island meet. We're getting more and more members from the North joining up now, should make for a very interesting and varied fleet!

Ok, now confirmed I am flying up on Wednesday 27th and being collected from the airport, and going to pick up my wife's new Opel Zafira - well, new to her anyway, as it is a 2001 model - up on the North Shore.

I've got a few bits and pieces to sort and people to see, then will be free in the evening from about 5pm onwards. Are you all available from say 7pm on 27th? Venue? I'll check where it was last time, as suggested by Ashley, since that was fairly central...... but any suggestions will be considered.

Will be in Hamilton on Thursday 28th about lunchtime and picking up some parts there. Is anyone available to meet up? Then possibly across to BOP to see someone, and on to Taupo for Thursday evening if that suits anyone?

Friday to Palmerston North for lunchtime (anyone from Napier/Hastings?) then south to Wellington and ferry crossing. Blenheim on Saturday and then home.

Will try to organise attendance at an Auckland show in February for a bigger meeting, but these small meetings will have to do for the meantime.

All members and potential members welcome to come along. Mobile number is 027 688 3748 but post replies up on here until evening of 26th.

It's going to be tricky to get a meet together at that time as central Auckland tends to choke up with traffic on weekday evenings from 3.30 to 7 or so.

Ok, anywhere you can suggest with plenty of parking and somewhere to get a drink/snack? Flexible on the time too

Is anyone free to meet up on Wednesday evening?

Not everyone looks on here, so will have to send a global email to all NI members to see what interest is out there.

 Ok, just seen how far it is from Napier/Hastings to PN so that is not a very realistic meeting place.....

Are there any Napier/Hastings members who are available for a Friday lunchtime meet if I make the diversion to visit? Evidently no point otherwise.

Anyone?
