Was thinking something similar - there may be a wider version of the bearing, that should locate in the flywheel and have enough depth to give good support to the input shaft.

Why go to all that trouble when TTV Flywheel is avaliable off the shelf £300 and already set up for Audi S3 pressure plate - it's easy simple and a lot less faff!!!

It's easy when you are in the UK but flywheels are heavy and cost quite a bit if you start trying to ship them around the world.

Good point 5kgs is going to be expensive - but I'm sure you must have engineering shops in your part of the world that can produce similar items

I got a quote of 155aus $ for shipping 2 normal steel 304 EFI headers with a weight of max 10kg,by seamail....
Airmail was like 266$ or something from aus to NL.
But i need them as soon as possible or some header plates,so its going to cost me heaps again.

Last year i shipped in my 330mm brakes (32kg) from Melbourne to NL by Fedex...more than 700$ aus on shipping and like 400aus $ on import tax and the breaks where like 800$ hehe, but posted on monday in melbourne deliverd on friday before 12:00 here....Fedex is fast.

Shipping heavy stuff from one continent to the other cost heaps.....

But for example my 304 V8 on a pallet like 1.10m by 1m cost like 450€ to ship to NL on freight cost..but than the horror started..

In total a 250kg (or close to that) with tax and all shit cost me close to 2000$ aus..Just on shipping.
Few weeks back i won a VR 304 engine loom on ebay for 24€ (36aus $) and shipping cost me over 50€ (75aus $) by airmail witch took more than 2 weeks....

One thing that may reduce charges is if you can have the items sent "on consignment", it takes longer but can be a LOT cheaper. Check out the local shipping companies as they like items that maximise the container usage.
While it's about 12 years ago, but I had a crated C20XEengine + exhaust manifold + bellhousing + induction, etc shipped on consignment from the UK and it was NZ$700 including insurance. GST and duty was extra.
