hahaha yes well that sound would be rather addictive.as for the timing chain issue is it the chain or the guides that give the trouble???

now for the diff sides of things, anyone know off other diffs being a sutible change??a simple fix would just be to lock it but is there anything else out there worth looking at.

what book are those pictures out of neville???

As far as I know, the pics were a story for a UK magazine, but i'll have to find out if you want to know especially.....?

Seems to be the chain guides which are the problem. When they break, the chain is able to jump off the teeth, but those with more knowledge in this area will be able to confirm.

Can't really spend the time to do a detailed thread on here - all the info is on that one and can be viewed without registering unlike some of the other forums that I covered it on

And its really easy you need to change a couple of things:

The front swaybar must be lowerd 1,5-2cm bij spacer blocks or else you can change the oilfilter

Alternatively if you can get hold of one a Senator 24V roll bar and then you don't need spacers and can still change the filter

Image

You need to use corresponding Senator24V drop links too which are a bit longer - I shortened mine but it would have still worked std - schoolboy error

118 Ben N wrote:You need a custom made flywheel with 8 bolts for the cranck instead of 6.(i have a adres from a guy in Gemany who makes them in combination with a BMW 6 serie changed pressure plate that can handle the torque easy and a normal 9inche 30E friction plate.)

Better still buy one from the UK £300 Billet 5kgs and pre-made set up to run Audi S3 Pressure plate - can use original Monza friction disc and release bearing and it will cope with anything you throw at it

Cut down OE Flywheel to crank bolts

Image

The BMW pressure plate is too damn big and heavy and you may find to need to do this to the bellhousing

118 Ben N wrote:You need to change the exhaust take the first part from the Senator B or Omega and weld it to your own Monza middle pipes.

You need to shorten the downpipe where it is a single pipe before the bend to join the original system too or the exhaust hangs too low

Nope just fit a smaller alternator

Scuttle pannel is fine - can even use the original pipework then

No offence intended but it's still a pretty poor conversion when you have to cut lumps of the cover plate to make it fit inside the bell housing - I'm still running same set up but I decided on the next one I'd do something much better

It doesn't look like too much needs to be taken off, perhaps just running a laser cut alloy spacer between the block and the gearbox would be suitable?

I'd be worried about poor seating of the input shaft in needle bearing located inside the crank

Like I said I had to scarf a load of material out of the bellhousing even after I cut the material of the pressure plate as without material removed you could still hear it rubbing as you turned the engine over
