What 80's/90's Opels car left in NZ?

My girlfriend has my old NZ new C20XE Calibra, white done around 270,000kms. Nice and tidy.

One of my best mates has a NZ new 1989 Kadett GSI 2.0 (8V), dark blue, just over 200,000kms, two owners from new. It has after market wheels with dot rated tyres for track work, K&N, big bore exhaust and its lowered.

I've seen quite a few of the NZ new Vectra 2000's from 1991-1992. They are all up around the 200,000Km mark now.

I had a silver one, 1991, sold it at 240,000Km
Brad has a Blue one I think it's also 1991 200,000Km
I've seen a red one and a dark grey one too out and about, probably imported in the same group.

I know 2 Vectra 2000's were crushed at a wreckers in Thames recently. They were surprisingly complete but I wasn't able to nab parts before they became blocks - the guy said take your time, they will be here for a few years yet, a few weeks later they were not.

As mentioned above, I have a Vectra 2000 now with 200k on the clock. It has had ok servicing but is quite rough throughout. The fact that when it had the crash (January 2010) it had a brand new wof and 12 months rego made me think that it would be a very good condition. Its not so, but like I say, its all there and thats all I am worried about.

I constantly keep an eye out for people wrecking all variations of Opels. There are currently two 24V Omega 3000's being wrecked in the South Waikato region, both of which pop of on TM from time to time. There is also a C20XE Calibra being wrecked in the Far North, which looks relatively complete and running also.

As mentioned elsewhere, I came across this '93 24v Omega A wagon last year near Raumati/Paraparaumu just north of Wellington on SH1 .... pretty rare over here, and nicer looking than the equivalent VN Commodore wagon in my opinion. Currently recorded as unregistered with last mileage noted as 185,000 in November 2007.

Green '91 Calibra being wrecked in KeriKeri - I'm getting the ngine, trans, etc from that.
White '91 Calibra being wrecked in Avondale (ish) and hopefully getting some A/C and interior parts from that
? Calibra v6 getting wrecked in Wellington. I'd like the 5 stud struts and rear hubs but $$$s are severely lacking!

There are 3 Vectra A GTs that aren't quite "ex" just yet: my 1990 daily in steel grey, a few little scuffs etc from life and daily use, 189800ish kms, and a very tatty dark blue one seen around Te Atatu a few times recently (about ready to be parted out by the looks of it) - the kid driving it has no knowledge or respect methinks , and an aquaintance in BOP has just found a reasonably tidy red one, he reckons it is still a pretty good runner.
For curiousity, I was running licence plates through http://www.carjam.co.nz, apparently there is a another grey Vectra A GT that is still current rego someplace (1 digit different on plate). Not dead yet, but a lot fewer to be seen since I bought the evil beast 6-7 yrs ago...

We've got a Little red 90 Vectra GT, bodywork is very tidy for it's age, 208kms, runs smooth, and gearbox still reasonably tight and noise free
A few minor repairs
- drivers seat has a small wear rip,
- drivers door card is rough,
- LH Mirror glass cracked,
- LH mud flap gone,
- LH repeater has fallen apart

In my area here in Upper Hutt - my 1988 Opel Manta 2.0GSi CC is still in the Garage and have not seen any Mantas on the road in the hutt valley for a few years while my daily driver Opel Vectra A 2000 16v is still going strong its maroon (more brown metallic look) paint looking very faded from Hutt and Wairarapa Sun - But it has a twin in Wainuiomata - owned by one of service Managers whom is EX GM of Brendon Foot Motors in Lower Hutt

There used to be a light Silver 2000 16v owned by Student at Upper Hutt College but its been over a year since i seen that

Bit concerned regarding that post of 2 Opel Vectra 2000 16v's crushed at a wreckers!

There quite a few Vectra A 2000GT 5 door Hatch all were 8v - There were no NZ new 16v!
Today i saw a near mint early Vectra A 2.0GL with PN plates and quite a few other GL and GLS owned by perhaps their original owners as Upper Hutt seems increasing become the Retirement Capital of Wellington apart from Bogan boy race element!



As for Kadetts -there is Brown Metallic Vauxhall Astra 1.8GTE (aero look) 5 door owned by Dave of Daves Upholstry - oroginally owned by Dutch Architech and i used to see it regularly in Wellington city - Dave now owns it it carries a Pontiac Le Mans front and has nicely lowered - Appartly Dave Races it in club events it carried NJ plates

There is rarer 3 door Kadett with its plates removed in a industrial area of Wingate -=Taita near a Truck depo

as for moderns there is late model Opel Vectra C 5 door Hatch CD in black carrying Vauxhall plates from Silverstream area of upper Hutt
