Visiting Auckland next week

Hi there,

I'm up in Auckland on a course for a couple of weeks (20-31 July) so was wondering who will be around for an informal meeting either for an evening or during the weekend in between? I'm not bringing the Monza on this occasion - heater still not working, and costs too much for travel if no show to display at anyway. I'm looking forward to meeting up with some of the Forum members in Auckland after all this time!

I'm also looking for advice on cheap car hire in Auckland while I am up there, ideally Opel but happy to consider anything that will get me between accommodation at my brother's house in St Heliers and Mt Roskill. My brother unfortunately has no spare car, and his wife is using their only car at present.

Can anyone help please?

It was great to catch up with Ashley, Jon, Carl and Adrian on Sunday. The venue is central, and the others seem keen to continue with meetings there .... so watch the forum for future meetings....monthly?

I'll try to catch up with some others if I come up to AKL again next month, but will have to see how I'm doing for time as it may not be over a weekend next time.

I took a pic of Adrian's anthracite Monza, and Carl's Vectra A. Would be great to get some more Opels along next time Will post up the pics when I get back as I can't download from my camera up here.

Keep in touch everyone. There's enough members in Auckland that you could meet regularly - even every two months over winter would be worthwhile.....? What do you think?

Yes, all good to keep up some sort of regular meet, excellent to meet some more like minded Opel fans, like suggested, perhaps every 2 months or so?
And we might get to see some more Opels out there.
Had a bit of an "Aw, bugger" moment today, was looking wrong way when getting car out, scabbed bumper on sharp inside surround of garage door, time to find some touchup - whoever thought body coloured bumpers were a good idea needs to be forced to eat one...
Last but not least, Adrian, verry nice Monza, something to aspire to when I feel like a change from the Vectra A GT:)
