Ok, will check the dash on the spares Manta here and let you know if it is worth considering. It does have a good interior, and I have a spare interior already, so should be able to help you in some way.

some of what i found on mine. there was no real sign of bulging on the chassis legs on this car but then after media blasting the shell these holes showed up
the chassis legs have an inner structural member, what you see on the car is just the outer part, once split its easy to see how these fail. water gets between the inner and outer part, there was never really any real rust treatment in these as the factory dipping process never got between the two parts. two black marks on the outer section are where some clown had done two cover up patch repairs on the outer section to hide bulging at some stage.

hi, thanks for your message, compared to mantas I had mid 90's in Glasgow this car seems very clean, I'm going to strip it to a bear shell and get my mate to build a spit roast so I can get a good look at the underside,I'm a foreman at fulton hogan so I don't have a lot of money and it could take me 5/6 years to get this car back on the road but to me it seems in greal condition, and if its true it was in dry storage for 14 years on Jack's,this car is 30 years old so it won't be perfect, not sure how long it will take but driving a manta again would be worth it, my Mrs Mazda 6 bores the shit out of me

Just checked, and the Manta dash on this spares car is in good condition, apart from needing a clean! Recaro interior is good too, apart from driver's seat bolster as usual.

Will get some photos to send you to see if you are interested to come down to retrieve. Maybe you can help me get the engine/gearbox out too, so I can scrap what's left ;)

Front screen cracked, tailgate glass intact, but tailgate frame is rubbish! Side glass good, but the doors are poor condition.

Ok, that sounds good.

Is a weekday better for you, or a weekend? My weekends are tied up for the next month for one reason or another - unless you can manage this Saturday as I might be able to wangle some time off for good behaviour? ;)

Looking ahead a wee bit, how about a Wednesday, the 14th Sept? Or even the Sunday, 18th Sept?

Will be past the Dunedin car show, and I can breathe a bit more easily ;)

Dash pics.

There a bit of the wet stuff getting in and creating a puddle behind drivers seat, so will need to get the car broken before it rots away! :(
