Yep, looks a really steep driveway too. Not sure how it got round that angle, or how they got it out! Going to need a bit more than yours did ;)

What are you thinking, Derek? Not sure if any damage to the engine, but you could use in your Manta otherwise?

I would fix that, but probably look at something different under the hood. The cars worth saving that's for sure.

I heard the steering box was crushed, and evidently the rad and front end was mangled too. Can get replacement s/hand parts for you from UK, so you thinking of another project already? :)

Well, it is certainly something you are capable of rebuilding, so will try to find out what I can from the owner about what insurer says. Hopefully it can be saved before the insurance company write off and sell as scrap.

Just watch the impellor shaft on water pump hasnt been pushed too far back into block.its happened with holdens ,hit back into clyinder wall splitting the bore and you can guess the rest, written many a car off because of that ,and some with very little body damage, just depends on how it was hit.

Ok, so I followed this up, and the Monza has already been sold through an auction house to a keen guy in Warkworth area. He is planning to rebuild with an LS1 engine, but will be needing to use a Commodore VK front end if he can't find replacement Monza front end panels.
