Made me thow up a little in my mouth - NOT nice!

Ugliness explained by this bit - "With any production car likely to be badged as a Buick in crucial Chinese and US markets"

:? Well the front end is very definitely from the Insignia etc, and quite a radical change but they are not going to recreate the Monza exactly.

If the car is being called Vauxhall and Monza as well, then there is a chance it will also appear badged as an Opel. It's only badge engineering after all, and will still be a big rear wheel drive coupe in the Monza (and Monaro) spirit.

Yeah I could be with Gordo there. it does look very Mazda / Audi with that deep front grille - no bumper look, those scoop things each side of the grille are ugly and will be snow catchers.

the upside for me = its a RWD Coupe

its still only a concept so doubt the radical styling will see production.

Ok, it's a bit Darth Vader, but I'm surprised you guys don't like it

Oh well, lucky we don't all have to like the same stuff ;)

Don't get me wrong, I love the idea that the Monza is back and that Opel have realized that we really need a competitive car in this segment. I just have an issue with the direction modern car design has taken in general, I don't think the new Monza concept is any worse than it's competitors.

"Damned with faint praise" springs to mind, Chad
What I like about the original Manta is it's a clean design, not something that can be said about that picture - it's something I might expect from the VAG design 'school'
By the time it makes production, if ever, it'll be FWD with a windscreen laid back so far it's almost horizontal.

Another pic of the Monza at the Frankfurt show found on a different forum

Looks pretty good to me! Do you think she is an optional extra?
