Galaxy of Cars - Western Springs 24 Feb 2013

The organisers (The New Lynn Lions) have sent through details for this years event. They are planning a bigger and better event than previously, including vintage motor bikes, and extending the area to provide more room for displays and a bigger swap meet.

The event is on Sunday 24th Feburary 2013.

Show cars will need to arrive at 8am, and be onsite no later than 9.30am. The show opens to the public at 10am. Cars will need to stay until 3pm for safety reasons.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $5 children (5-15), $15 for swap meet sellers. I'm not sure if the driver gets in free (I think this was the case a couple of years ago, but I will confirm with the organisers).

If you are interested in attending, please post below. We have been asked to confirm numbers at the end of the month.

OK, the official word is back from the organisers - "Drivers are free but passengers pay the normal entry".
All the proceeds go to charity and it is usually a really worthwhile cause.

Sorry Paul, but there is zero chance my Vectra will be ready in time for this and the Commodore likely won't be in any state to drive up there, assuming I still own it then.

I'll plan to be there, but as a visitor. No Opels in the garage at the moment,sadly! Irrespective, it'll be nice to meet up with some of the 'names' from the forum.

Happy New Year!

An update on the display at Western Springs next month. New member Jan H will be bringing one (hopefully two) classic Opels to the Galaxy of Cars display - an Opel Kapitan 1953 and subject to it being ready an Opel Super 6 from 1937 (currently en-route from Holland)!

If you would like to display on the 24th, please add your name to the list. So far we only have 3 or 4 confirmed cars, and we need more!!

Will do, with the practice at Ellerslie we should have it up in two ticks. I will be bringing something to re-number the poles again though during the day

Looks like you have a good number!

Can everyone please supply car details to Paul for the window cards as we did at Ellerslie? If you still have that one, then let Paul know.

Paul has now received the new club banner from the supplier, so will be good to get that displayed - pity it missed last weekend! :roll:
