Bump for this Sunday!

I'm hoping to drop by after lunch. Really looking forward to seeing the cars on display.

Looks like you had another good turnout and great weather too! What was the interest? Any new Opel members signed up?

New banner looks great there, as does the marquee with flags and the Opel umbrella too!

Which did members think best - Ellerslie or Galaxy?

Personally I thought Ellerslie was a better show. More cars, bigger range, more foot traffic, more food, better atmosphere.

got to agree with Chad on that, he echos my thoughts.

I also think we were much better possie next to the Vauxhall guys at Ellerslie.

Where we were at Western Springs was kind of tucked out the back where the bulk of foot traffic would have missed us.

The bigger draw card we did have at Western Springs was the Opel Super 6, that car is simply stunning and it did draw a crowd that then went onto look at the others on show. We were a 3 cars down.

Darren planned to be there but never made it (he is a volunteer fire fighter)
Carl & Steve were not planning to be there but were missed never the less.

I enjoyed the day and the time spent with fellow members, thanks again to Paul for organizing it and to Chad for taking his gazebo along.

Absolutely - Ellerslie wins. A couple of years back Galaxy of Cars was held at MOTAT which I thought was a better venue.

That said, the weather was perfect, and we had an awesome display with the new club banner, and of course Jan's Super 6 and Kapitan (they really drew in the crowds!).

I will ask the committee next year for a specific location if we'd prefer to be in the centre of the stadium.

Thanks to Chad for bringing the Gazebo, and thanks to everyone for attending. Photos to follow ....

Looks like the window card idea worked out well. What else can we do to draw in people at next show?

Not sure what other shows there are in the region, but presume there is something before Ellerslie next year?

Got member Alf visiting here from UK, and he is most impressed with the quality of the cars on display, and those of all marques at the Ellerslie show.

Firstly I appologise for not coming and meeting everyone. We had a busy day, as the girls were dropped off at the Zoo before hand and we wanted to do both Motat sites on the same day before picking them up. My 15 minutes allocated to visit the Opel stand was spent talking to Chad about his Vectra

Purely from a spectator point of view I didn't have too much trouble finding the site, and I actually think you guys were quite lucky being able to have room to put up the Gazebo and also a bit of tree cover. It seemed much cooler there than down on the speedway for instance. Made a bit of a difference from the usual flat paddock show area.

I didn't make it to Elerslie though, so I'm not able to compare it to that. Either way, it's a great effort that you guys are making to push the 'club' and I along with others who couldn't make it I'm sure, appreciate the effort that is involved in putting these things together.
