This one is the fuel pressure regulator. The hose from this was worn through as can be seen on the other pick. Any way it's running heaps better

Think I just found the answer to my queston. It looks like its a fuel tank vent valve.
Sorry my bad as its got an airflow meter.

Yup, you're onto it. Just a valve for the fuel tank vent/re circulation. It probably goes into the drivers side guard where there is a large filter or some such. Not sure what all that crap does, but I think most people seal it up and remove it all. Mines still in there for now, but I'm going to block the little hose so that it doesn't recirc into the intake.

Looks nice and tidy under the bonnet at least! Mine was shocking.

Here's a pic of what it was.

Absolutely. I should really have done this already, but I'm being a little naughty. It has 10k left on the current belt and it appears to be in good condition, so I will do it as soon as I'm back from the first outing.

None of this will make me feel any better if the belt breaks/water pump seizes during the trip, but I've chosen to spin the roulette wheel so I'll just keep my fingers crossed.

Brad, any chance of borrowing the AFM at some stage - mine still runs lean* and loses power (with maybe a light misfire) over about 85% throttle and that's about the last thing to try - checked and replaced about everything else I can think of.

Chad, I should be heading up that way in the next few days, if you still want to check the fuel pressure and throttle balance?

*As seen on dyno runs - also seems to idle a little on the rich side, but that may be my imagination - plugs are certainly showing it's running clean and a little lean, overall.

That would be sweet, thanks, Chad - it's the 2.5 I need - I thought the 2.8 had a different pin out, but if it fits, may also be worth a try.
Probably would be earlyish Friday evening, but I'll need to confirm that - Saturday is the dyno' day and i may wander over for that 8)

You can borrow/buy one of mine Gordo, if need be, but looks like you're all sorted anyway.

I'm in a bit of a shambles at the moment, I have a stack of parts I need to dredge up for people but the sheds a mess and I'm very lazy.
