Not only not in NZ, not in the world that I am aware of. I'm 99% sure the Vectra 2000 never came in hatchback form. Only the less models, including the GT which runs the high compression 8 valve motor, not the 16 valve of the 2000.

The later model Vectra SRi (1993-1994) came in hatchback form as well as saloon form. It of course had the same C20XE / F20 combination as the Vectra 2000.

^ I didn't know that, but for the purpose of this thread it still isn't a Hatchback "Vectra 2000" (with the kit).

No we only got the 4 door sedan model and no Automatics

1 or 2 private import 4x4 models came in - Nik will probaby know of these -
I thought we only got them 1990-1991 so it was quite suprising that 1992 model! - maybe it was built in 1991 but not registered until 1992

Sureally not the SRI used the same engine? Not the same head
Do nt think so the 16V is sold in Europe as the Gsi - In Vectra B the Gsi we never got ; The SRi was not the same sure it was 16v but not same performance motor

I know that a special Vectra B SRi was just a body kit job
Here locally Maidstone Panel & Paint in Maidstone Upper Hutt got the contract to do all the spoilers front and rear ; much of the trim was contracted out again locally and car had a standard basic 2.0 engine fitted - most of the cars were white. I was there one time picking up my Manta for body work and its owner told me about them - I often laugh a lot when I see sellers saying it was performance car - In your dreams! :)

I am referring to the Vectra A SRi / GT 16v not the Vectra B. When the Vectra A was in production the Cosworth Designed head on the C20XE was the only 2000cc motor Opel had with 4 valve heads. in 1994 the Ecotec came out and was fitted to a few Vectra A's, but these were not badged 'SRi'.

Here is a Vectra A performance breakdown:

C20XE motor with F20 CR 5speed.
Twist beam rear end / mac phearson front with sport spring and shock option.

-Vectra SRi (Germany / EU)
-Vectra GT 16v (German assembled RHD export model)
-Cavalier Mk3 SRi (UK Vauxhall)

C20XE motor with F20 CR 5speed.
Independant rear end / mac phearson front with sport spring and shock option.

-Vectra GSi (Germany / EU)
-Vectra 2000 (German assembled RHD export model)
-Cavalier Mk3 GSi (UK Vauxhall)

C20XE motor with Getrag CR 6speed and Fergusson 4x4 system.
Independant rear end / mac phearson front with sport spring and shock option.

-Vectra 4x4 (Germany / EU)
- Cavalier Mk3 2.0i 4x4 (UK Vauxhall)

C20LET motor with Getrag CR 6speed and Fergusson 4x4 system.
Independant rear end / mac phearson front with sport spring and shock option.

-Vectra 4x4 Turbo (Germany / EU)
-Vectra 4x4 Turbo (German assembled RHD export model)
- Cavalier Mk3 2.0i 4x4 Turbo (UK Vauxhall)

I was under the understanding that the (NA) C20XE 4x4 was based on the five speed F20, and all the references I've seen to it, support that.
The higher torque of the LET required the stronger gearbox which was designed specifically for 4WD, this being the F28 with a sixth gear as the engine had the torque to pull it for relaxed cruising at speed.

I think that's right, Ken - was that the one that was converted for a rear engine, RWD project or the normal one?

I've had two Vectra 16v's

RM3862 - Silver with light interior owned it for a couple of months in 2000, it's since been laid to rest July 2009.

PQ9160 - Light metallic grey with black interior, running very well.
