Ok, so you were on the edge of the field. I just thought it would look more packed in together having seen the UK car shows.

Good numbers attending. A selection of pics of other clubs would be interesting to see, please?

Cheers

OK I'll get round to it tonight I hope.
They did spread out the cars a great deal around the venue, it took ages to get to the other side, but it meant that there wasn't any crowding.

Sorry I'm used to seeing Tony's Chevette so I didn't see the point in taking photos for myself, but I really should have thought about the forum wanting to see it!

It is a real engineering marvel, the engine has been designed to act as a 'stressed member' to eliminate front end torsion under acceleration, the aluminium intake manifolds were custom cast by Tony himself and so was the blanking plate / sump for the dry sump system, they look like factory fitment!

At any rate the car used to have 250Hp with the Lotus 900 motor, now it has over 400Hp and the V8 is only 30Kg heavier. The only 'modifications' done to the Lexus motor are quad twin choke 48mm down draughts (one 48mm throttle per cylinder :D ) and the exhaust system.

having seen the chevette myself a couple of times I have to agree with Chad, he isnt over stating the car at all, Tony is a engineering genius.
the photo above is the first I have seen of it finished, looks good too.

Thanks for the pics.

:( Regrettably, due to a dire lack of cashflow at present, I will not be able to get up for GoC either. Was hoping to get some new window stickers made up to send north for the members at the show, but again, unable to fund the printing at present  .

I've redesigned them to look more modern, so would appreciate feedback in the meantime.

Hi, I hope the Galaxy of Cars event was a success too. Does anyone have photos from the weekend?

Hi Neville,

There was only four cars that turned up unfortunately. :(

Carl Kemp manged to make it with his 86 Manta GTE that has been off the road for the past two years. He has done a great job under it and in the engine bay. He also took out the trophy for "Best Members Car" on the day. Photos have been uploaded onto our FaceBook page in the Galaxy of Cars album. New venue this year, so took a bit of getting used to. A lot of clubs all had the same problem, only half of there members turning up for it. Bit of a pity really as a lot of us put a lot of time and effort into it. In all fairness thou, there was another four cars from VOS that weren't able to make it that wanted to be there.

Pukekohe Swap Meet this Sunday. All of you are welcome to join us on the day. It is from 8.00am - 3.00pm. We will be meeting in the carpark at the BP fuel stop on the Southern motorway between Papakura and Drury on the left heading South at 8.00am. There is hot & cold food, drinks available for purchase from the vendors. Great opportunity to purchase some bargains and collectables at the swap meet as well? :)

Cheers, Mark...

I was down in the Wairarapa doing some wedding planning, otherwise I would have been there with bells on.
