Ellerslie Concours d'Elegance - 14th Feb 2016

We are officially invited, and the date is confirmed as Valentine's day.

Opel Forum is entitled to display 6 cars (unless we ask for more), and we need to request this in advance, so some early indication from those interested in displaying would be good.

If you are interested, please add your details to the thread below ....

An update from the organisers. Note that numbers need to be confirmed by the end of November - if you would like to attend add your name to the thread before then!

SHOW UPDATE.

Club entries for the 2016 are now pouring in – so now is the time to get yours sorted if you haven’t already done so.

ENTER THE CLASSIC COVER CLUB DISPLAY
The theme is “Love Story” – given that show day is St Valentine’s Day. It’s a unique chance to have fun interpreting your club’s affair with your cars. See the detaills on the website.

PADDOCK DISPLAY FOR CARS WITH NO CLUB!
The Paddock shows classics whose owners are not affiliated with a club – or for which there is no club. And you can just turn up on the day. The car should be an original example. Modified or replica vehicles will be specifically excludedThe car must be clean and tidy, preferably older than 35 years (1980 or earlier to match the rules for the Survivors Class) unless the car is of exceptional interest. The car should also beof interest to those typically attending the show. Entry to "The Paddock" shall be at the sole discretion of the Host Club. Once The Paddock is full, cars will not be admitted unless space becomes available. Know of cars that qualify? Spread the word.

SURVIVORS CLASS IS BACK BIGGER THE EVER!
The Survivors Class is for unrestored vehicles at least 35 years old with original bodywork, paint and upholstery and is limited to six competitors. Should the category be over-subscribed, entries shall be selected by the Organising Committee taking into account originality, condition, age, rarity or unique aspects of the car. Competing cars for Survivors Class cannot be entered as part of the Teams Event in the same year.SHOW UPDATE.Promotional planning is well advanced – involving radio, newspapers, magazines and online media. Once again our radio partners are The Sound and Radio Live – along with main sponsor Parkside Media /NZ Classic Car Magazine. We thought you’d like a sneak preview of the new magazine advertising – so an initial mock up accompanies this. Now it’s over to you.

Are you prepared to make that a bit more definite, Steve? :? We need to know how many cars we have coming, or whether we pull the plug.

Sorry I can't commit to this, lots of reasons, mainly not car related.
2016 will be a busy year for us as we look for a much smaller house and a much larger shed.

Hopefully you'll come along to meet the rest of us too? Good to put a face to the name.
