FS. Calibra 2.0 16v + CALIBR rego plate

Postby 232 Adrian M » 06 Aug 2016, 15:50

Hi Everyone....

Sadly selling my old Calibra 2.0 16v.

There was a change in my circumstances a few years ago and I couldnt afford to keep the car on the roads....

When I came to re-rego and warrant it failed on a Rusty Tailgate... again with bad circumstances I couldnt afford to fix it and in the meantime to rego got cancelled (STINK)...

Unfortunately I cant afford to recertify the car AND fix the tailgate AND rego it... so off she goes!!!

NOW... as the car is DEREGISTERED and FAILED a warrant it is going to need to be RECERTIFIED, RE-REGO'd, WARRANTED.....

Needs a few things fixed, Tailgate (rusty), door cards flapping, a bracket on the sunroof (again a little rusty) which is broken and prevents it from closing properly until you manually lift the clip/cam to fully close.... Battery dead.

Other than these things I am guessing it would (albeit illegally) drive away.... I may/may not have tested this!!! ;)

I bought the car with a duff motor, but bought a motor and replaced it some time ago (April '14) from Gordo.

The car has a brand new Radiator imported from the UK when I swapped the motor and it also has a Stage 2 ECU Chip... (still have the old chip if you wanted to put it back to standard). Pretty quick car.

Viewing welcomed and encouraged.

ALSO the Personalised plate will be sold too.... CALIBR

Offers on one/other/both welcomed...

I would also consider a swap for 4WD truck such as a Mitsi Challenger, Hilux Surf, Terrano etc

PM if interested

Cheers

Adrian

Sorry to hear your car troubles. Rego should not be cancelled unless unpaid for more than 12 months, and not put on hold?

Hi Neville.

Was given some shocking info from the local post office re: "putting it on hold" and it was out of my financial reach (apparently) at the time... turns out the info was wrong and car did not HAVE to be warranted and rego'd to put on hold... just rego paid up to the date of the hold.... anyway, I missed out and it lapsed so no point in dwelling on it! :)

I have a hobby which pretty much absorbs any remaining cash I have floating, and although I will miss her its all good. I bought it because I was missing my DTM 4x4 LET when I emigrated.

Cheers

Darn! ... or words to that effect! ;) Should have brought your car with you!

Have you got any photos of the car? May find someone up in AKL would be interested in a project if they can see some pics too.

Looks pretty good from the photo. You got any more to put up? Front, interior and under bonnet worthwhile for potential buyers.

I hope you dont have a problem getting the personalised plate off the car, I know it cant be done if the rego is on hold.

The reg plate is still linked to the car on CarJam, but not sure what the rights are to the plate once the car has been de-registered, Adrian. You may have to fight for the ownership of the plate?

Sorry, I have no means to recover the car from up there. Try Adrian Howse, as he might be interested in a project car and works or used to work for a Holden dealer as a mechanic. Try monzaman007@hotmail.com as I don't have a phone number for him.

Thanks Neville. The plate is definately disconnected from the car and has been since March. Carjam is a bit behind the 8 ball.

Plate is now listed too.

Yu might want to check with VTNZ on the plate before you sell it, not meaning to upset you or anything, just trying to raise a flag that getting the plate on another car might be a problem if it's still on the Calibra. I had a major headache with a plate that was on my manta while the rego was on hold, I could not get it off the car without a current rego and warrant. Might be just a phone call to find out, hoping for your sake it's not a drama, just suggesting it's worth making a call, would be interested to know what the answer is.

Thought about selling the aftermarket chip separately? I may be interested depending on exact model and price?

The car is VOR at the moment*, but if you have something compatibly with the '90 Motronic 2.5 I could still be interested depending on chip and cost, thanks - there aren't a lot floating around down here.
How is the Monza/Manta(?) getting on, BTW?

*friggin' rust :(
