I've not seen any Manta coupes over here, Steve. Couple of Cavalier coupes owned by members.

Expected that, you never know whats out here. Heard of a couple brought over by ex OMOC members.
Cavalier coupe would do fine, just swap the nosecone. Saw one in Tauranga a few weeks ago.

It's a hatchback, isn't it?

Seems to be a common misunderstanding in NZ - maybe the importers only brought in hatchbacks to sell new in NZ? I'm sure Nik in Napier can advise if that is not the case, as his dad was one of the Opel importers.

Race prepared Manta C coupe in action!

Hatchback or CC (Combi coupe in Germany). Full tailgate opening including rear window

Early Manta B hatchback with chrome bumpers (equivalent to first Vx Cavalier hatchback)

As far as I know, the hatchback was never raced as a track or rally car by the Dealer Opel factory teams.

Its been a while since I been on this board so thats why the delay in replying.:)
2 Red Coupes were in NZ as of 1993 - One in CHCH was a 1988 NZ New brought in for a dealers wife and another up north also brought in for a dealers wife - around 2000 I was in contact with a guy who brought the second and re-powered it with a 2.5 V6 engine from a Opel Vectra B - I think it was it Tauranga?

Cheers Julian

Hey Neville,
I spoke to Dad about this last night, hatches were the only options here in NZ. Though I guess at a push a special order could be done ie the car Julian knows.
Interestingly some came badged GTE's while others came in as GSI's.
