Wanted, heater core for vectra 2000

Postby 227 Jason R » 01 May 2013, 00:26

Hi, I'm after a heater core for my Opel vectra 2000. The old one is beyond repair and steams up the window when the heater it turned on. Not ideal for winter and working night shifts. I think that a Calibra one may be the same too. Cheers jason.

As discussed tonight, I'll be ripping my one out for you Jason.

(just thought I would post here in case others were looking around for one to get to him)

I have two, but I'm not sure if either is water tight :?

It's been so long since I've used a heater. Guess I just got used to being frozen.

Nah, it's just because you live in Auckland, not Christchurch.

Ok, so I've successfully removed the heater core from the car. But now the floor is covered in water and I cut myself twice, plus had to stand on my head to find the bolts at the front of the core. So the price has now doubled!

$30?

It's not the tidiest one I've ever seen. A little bit of rust flaked off around the bottom, so I can't offer any guaranty that it will survive the trip. But at the moment it is holding water well and I would say it should last at least a couple of seasons (until you turn to the dark side and build yours into a Vectra track car too)

Nice one brad. Sorry to hear about the damage that you did to yourself removing it. Just think how much lighter your car will be now plus you will have some money to buy a pack of plasters. :D

Thanks for the heater core Brad and the Opel bonnet badge. The heater is installed now and it's working a treat. Nice warm air to defrost my windows in the morning. Plus it now looks the part with the new bonnet badge. Fantastic, I'm a happy man.

Awesome! Great to hear. And I'm very glad that it made it down there in one piece and is holding water nicely.

I'd better go pull some more stuff out of the car and get it nice and light so it goes faster!
