Extremely off chance, but no one has or knows or someone with, a Vectra A radiator who is in or will be passing through the Manawatu area (Feilding) this weekend?

Broke mine today and possibly too leaky to get back to Hamilton, even with Rangi mods. lol

A bit out of the way, Brad, sorry.
I'd run one down to you for petrol cost, but having a bit of a downturn at the mo'.
You can't mix up some araldite or something to seal the leak?

Recovery service will probably charge around $400, but that's probably cheaper than a buggered engine.

Have sealed it up and tried to holding the broken part down as best I could with what was available at the track (gasket goo and tape) and it actually seems to be holding for now. I'll keep an eye on it and see how we go. Worst case will be a ride home and pick it up at a later date. No biggie.

Cheers for the (almost) offer of assistance Gordo.

Managed to limp it all the way home on the broken radiator without losing any water. Good bodge job if I do say so myself. Going to put a decent radiator in there without any plastic in it!

Broken a CV joint just coming back into Hamilton though. That was a bit out of the blue, so will have a look and see what happened. Hopefully it just ran out of grease.

Sounds eventful mate. Good job making it home. You never really know what will let go on a new vehicle do you?

That's right aye. I'd replaced the other side driveshaft with a tidier one, will of grease with a decent boot on it because the old boot had broken and let the crap in. I could have done the LHS too, but where do you draw the line. I'll have a look at it once I recover from the big weekend and decide on a game plan.

I'll get some pics up too. I saw a couple that were taken on Friday and it was looking very touring car-esk. Quite happy with it so far.
