FS: Calibra - Hamilton

Buy my Calibra!
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... 65&ed=true

Unfortunately I'm now sick of it and no longer want to waste any more of my time on it. My loss, your gain!

I was going to $1 reserve it but decided to start off with a firmer price to try and lower the risk of it being wrecked. Hopefully at this price it's cheap enough for someone to want to fix it up but not so cheap that it's worth buying just for the parts.

I'm unsure. It should be, being an early distributor model but I can't confirm.

I hate trade me....especially when you get some twat offering a numb nuts figure below the start / reserve price, trade me inst a dutch auction but maybe they need to create a dutch auction version.

I like the way the Toyota dealers in NZ buy their stock by online dutch auction, its super fast to watch live online. The dollars fall rapidly, from memory it was like 1/100 of a second per dollar.

FYI Brad,
I also reset the throttle position sensor and fitted a new oxygen sensor. The hunting idle and hesitation on acceleration that I was seeing intermittently is now clear. Also the car was 'bunny hopping' when trying to pull a high gear at low revs, now it just pulls clean from 1000rpm in 3rd.

Just thought I'd let you know, it seems that over time the 'throttle closed' micro switch in the TPS stops being triggered by the throttle when closed, so by re-setting the TPS placement it seems to have made a difference.

It just seems to be getting air in the fuel system some how. It might be something simple like needing a bit more petrol or even a new fuel pump - maybe both of mine are had it? Either way, I'm over it now and have 36 watchers at a price I'm happy to sell it for, so fingers crossed someone steps up and bids!

I agree with the trademe thing though. It really is difficult, but the weird texts and calls have stopped for the moment, so that's a relief at least.

Can't remember - did you replace the fuel line between the tank and the pump?
@$1200, it's a steal - hope the buyer looks after it - but some of the numpty guys on TM will probable blow or stack it in a week...

well I am 1 of the 36, picking there will be a few from here too.

I cant bid anyway, I would just want it for the engine spares, (do I need a 3rd engine?)

the boy was looking for another car up until last week, he now has himself a NZ new MA70 or Mk3 Toyota Supra 3.0L Factory Manual. He will be ill going from that into the chevette (if my mate ever gets round to painting it)

Derek, if it turns out you really need an engine, got a spare.

Yeap, replaced and doesn't seem to be leaking. I might have another look at it at some stage and try a few more things.

I would suggest doing the oxygen sensor. It's more than just an AFR trim sensor on these motronic ecu's. A bad oxygen sensor can really stuff up cold start behaviour, so I've learned.
